"In the News" Summary for Monday, January 12th and 13th:

Today's big news in La Pine is that the Tina Blake home on Burgess Road caught fire and destroyed everything.  Their home was not insured.

How to Help:

Jan. 13, 2015 - A La Pine family, Tina Blake, her children and 2 week year old grandchild were forced out of their home around 1:30 a.m. this morning by a devastating fire. This is the second fire on their property in three years, and it has left three adults and four children without anything.

Community members are joining force to help replace what was lost. The Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Burgess has offered to store donations of food and clothing for them. They are asking that you hold onto the larger items until we know more. The church's number is (541) 536-3571. You can also contact the Red Cross at (541) 382-2142. I have just learned that there is a cash donation jar at where Tina works, Sandy's Hair Design in La Pine. Sandy's is located next to the DMV office.

I will be updating and adding links as soon as I can. La Pine Neighborhood Watch and La Pine's United Tenders 4-H Group have done a great job of getting things started. If you know of other groups who are helping, please leave me a comment on the Facebook page.  Thank you!

Here are some of the clothing sizes:

Newborn baby boy ... diapers, clothes, toys, etc.
Andrew...36x36 pant, XL 13 to 14 boot
Amanda....3-5 womens, small tops, 8.5-9 shoes
Joey.....34x30 pant, xl shirt, 9 shoes
Mom 4x to 5x...

Something fishy seems to be going on in La Pine, especially along the Day Road area. A red-headed guy with acne, driving a silver Scion, is serving papers to the neighbors. Police have been contacted, so if you see him please call them.

It is old news now, but Oregon lost to Ohio State last night, 20 - 41.  What a season you had this year, Ducks.

  •  3:31 - La Pine. Male took pills with the intent to overdose. He is still awake, and help is there. What is going today?

  • 2:50: The little chick in the black car driving around Bend had better quit texting! This is the third time that I have heard about a certain black car doing something wrong this week. Don't know if they are all the same vehicle or not.

  •  Whoa! It looks like that at around 1:30 or so last night that there was a fire in La Pine at 15800 Burgess Rd and that it didn't turn out well for the doublewide mobile home. They were worried about two pets being still inside. I don't know the names of the family who lived there yet.
